28??? Yikes! Too close to 30! lol

So last Friday I turned 28. It's a bit scary thinking about being 30, but Ty's going to be 31 this year, so it's really not that big a deal! He doesn't look that old....at least, I don't think so.....and I've been told that I don't look 28....although who's to know what 28 looks like? lol Anyway, I was kinda feeling down on my birthday, cause I don't have very many friends yet. I didn't have anything planned and was alone for a few hours that night, cause Ty was taking a life insurance licensing course. Saturday morning my friend Jen called and thought we could get together with our kids for lunch, so they ended up coming over here. Right before she left, she told me that she wanted to take me out for dinner that night. I was excited, cause I rarely get out of the house without the kids....this would be my first girls night out since I'd been in BC! Scary! So later that night, someone called from a northern Alberta number, and Ty answered. I asked who it had been, and it was his cousin Marcy he said. I was confused as to why she'd call from that number, and he kinda mumbled something. It was then that I started thinking it could've been his sister Laura, and that's when I figured out that they were going to surprise me at the restaraunt. I didn't say anything to Ty or to Jen when she picked me up, cause I didn't want to look silly if I was wrong. We got to the restaraunt (Montana's) and walked up to a booth that held Ty's mom (Tana), his Aunt Bev, his cousin Marcy, sister Laura, and cousin's wife Starla. They were all clapping and laughing cause they thought they'd pulled one over on me! I told them that I kinda thought I knew, just cause they hadn't told Ty, and he was confused as to what was going on. If he'd known, he could've said that it was Laura calling, cause I wouldn't have found it strange that his sister was calling from her own cell phone! Oh well, it was fun anyway, cause I've never had a surprise party before! Jen paid for my dinner, and that was her present to me, and I received a beautiful dress, braclets and necklace from Tana, Bev and Marcy, and Starla gave me a pretty book for pictures. It was a fun evening....a bit embarrassing when they brought out moose horns I had to wear while the waitresses announced it was my birthday and then they sang to me....but still a blast! I felt bad for feeling sorry for myself about not having friends! Anyway, this week has been normal, busy taxing kids around. Getting ready for my first Pampered Chef show next Friday.....am really nervous, a bit excited....I loved getting my Super Starter Kit in the mail with all my new stuff in it though! lol Okay, have to go deal with the kids and clean up after lunch, and then it's off to pick up Ty's check, then pick up Josh, then to the grocery store....a Mom's work is never done!
